What we believe

We are the Body of Christ at First Baptist Church of Harbor Oaks, located in Port Orange, Florida, and this is what we hold to be true:

 

1. We believe in one God who exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

2. We believe the Bible is God's inspired, inerrant, God-breathed Word given to us for daily living.

3. We believe the church is the body of Christ on earth, and Christ is its head.

4. We believe Jesus is God’s unique Son, who came to earth as a virgin-born man, fully human and fully divine. He lived a sinless life and gave His life on a cross for all who would believe in Him. We believe God raised Jesus on the third day, and He is alive today. The borrowed tomb is empty.

5. We believe our sin separates us from God, who is perfect in every way.

6. We believe salvation is found only in the saving blood of Jesus Christ. His substitutionary death on the cross is the bridge that makes a relationship with God possible.
7. We believe our purpose on earth is to glorify God and to love others into His kingdom.
8. We believe our future is secure through faith in Jesus Christ, and we eagerly await His promised return.
